Bontrager has performed as a soloist and chamber
musician throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan, currently touring, performing,
and recording with a number of ensembles, including the Millennium Brass.
As soloist/clinician for Leblanc, Lisa has been featured at the Mid-West
Band and Orchestra Clinic, New York Brass Conferences, the New England and
international conferences of the International Horn Society. Appointed in
1985, she is currently Professor of Music at Penn State University where
she teaches horn and directs the 18-member Horn Ensemble. Lisas first
solo CD, Hunters Moon, was released by Summit Records
in April 2002.
The pursuit of perfection has created a new-generation French horn known
for its remarkable versatility, unsurpassed construction and superb intonation.
The Holton H105s technological and acoustical flexibility enables
the artist to perform in a wide variety of playing situations. Its two
interchangeable mouthpipes with newly developed tapers make it easy to
switch between work in small chamber ensembles and large symphony orchestral
horn, and specially tempered red brass bell produces a rich, dark sound
capable of great volume without becoming brassy.
